Our Variable Volume Fermenters are made of stainless steel and are perfect for primary fermentation of wine must. They are called variable volume fermenters because the lid can be set at any level. It utilizes a inflatable outer ring on the lid that inflates using a hand pump (included) to make a airtight seal. The lid also has a pressure release valve that allows the gas from fermentation to escape without letting air back in. Each fermenter comes with a spigot at the bottom of the fermenter. The ability to set the lid at any level greatly reduces the possibility of oxidation and spoilage due to too much airspace.
